CropX Soil Sensor

The CropX Soil Sensor (https://www.cropx.com/technology/) measures volumetric water content in percent (%), temperature, and electrical conductivity at depths of 8” and 18”. High volumetric water content corresponds to wet soil whereas low volumetric water content corresponds to dry soil. For installation, the manufacturer recommends 1) drilling a pilot hole using a 5/8” auger bit, 2) applying water to the pilot hole, 3) waiting three minutes to allow infiltration, and 4) screwing the soil sensor into the pilot hole using a custom T handle until the sensor head is flush with the soil surface. An installation video can be viewed at the following link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Br1hhdZ3LAI).
