General Information

This soil moisture monitoring showcase gives an opportunity for the Mississippi agricultural community to learn more about the soil moisture sensors and accompanying telemetry services currently on the market. In 2020 and 2021, the showcase included a physical demonstration of different soil moisture monitoring systems installed side by side on the same field at the West Farm of Mississippi State University Delta Research and Extension Center. The showcase became solely virtual in 2023 but continues to provide free public access to objective information about various soil moisture monitoring systems and to hands-on experiences of viewing live data on their respective interfaces. Currently, the showcase features AgSense WagNet, AquaSpy AgSpy, CropX, Goanna Ag GoField+, High Yield Ag Solutions, Irrometer IRROcloud, 365 by Prospera, and Simplot SmartFarm.

This program is a contribution of the National Center for Alluvial Aquifer Research (NCAAR), the Mississippi State University Extension Service, and the Row-Crop Irrigation Science Extension and Research (RISER) initiative.
